On Sunday my roommate and I went on a Full Moon Paddle at Stroud’s
Run State Park with Mimi Morrison from Touch
the Earth Adventures. Touch the Earth
Adventures is an outdoor adventure experience created to inspire people to be
in touch with the Earth through all sorts of outdoor pursuits. A Full Moon Paddle is a kayak adventure
out on Dow Lake from sunset until about 10pm.
During the paddle you get to see the sunset, stars, and an
awesome view of the full moon. We loved
it so much we are already talking about going back to Stroud’s to rent kayaks
during the day sometime. The paddle was
so relaxing and I got to see so many new areas of the lake. It also happened to be a “supermoon” this
weekend, which is when the moon is at its closest point to Earth during the year. At first it was a little discouraging because
it ended up clouding up a bit, but after a short
wait the sky cleared up and we got to watch the moon rise over the lake which was
pretty amazing.
Sorry this post is short on pictures, I was a little worried I might tip! :)
